Pauline Rochas was born into two worlds of scent.

Her paternal grandfather, Marcel Rochas, created Femme, one of the great perfumes of the twentieth century, for his wife and muse, ' ` the legendary Helene Rochas. Through her grandmother, Pauline entered a world where fragrance was art. Where it carried memory, identity and power.

Her maternal grandmother, Denise Boyriven, lived on the French Riviera, close to Pierre Cardin’s Palais Bulles. Here, summers were long, and the garden was wild. Mimosas, midnight datura, jasmine, gardenias and eucalyptus. The salty Mediterranean breeze at night. Nature and fragrance were inseparable, and both became part of her.

Two educations in beauty. One in the formal language of haute parfumerie. One in something older, wilder, grown from the earth.

Pauline’s work lives in the space between them.
